Finale Flooring — The Last Word in Luxury

Our Story

A standard shaped
by a person.

Bernie Johnson’s example sits at the heart of what David Olson wants Finale to stand for: honest work, care for people and craftsmanship worth respecting.

Remembering Bernie Johnson

Hardworking. Principled.
And lighthearted.

David remembers his grandfather as a Little Falls floor sander and a carpenter who finished hardwood floors for a living. The work mattered to Bernie, and so did the people around him.

He was honest, kind and deeply principled. His example came through in how he lived and worked: taking responsibility, doing the hard work and treating people with care. His Christian faith was an important part of his life.

There was warmth alongside that conviction. David describes him as friendly, fun and lighthearted, with a silly side. The family photograph of Bernie holding Ethel in the snow belongs to that fuller picture of the man.

More than the material.

For David, Bernie’s influence is a reminder that people remember who they worked with, how they were treated and the care put into the job. Those qualities give craftsmanship its meaning.

That is the standard David wants Finale to carry forward: an experience worth the investment, with a clear scope, respect for the customer’s budget and attention to the work beneath the finish.

Story based on David Olson’s recollections. Bernie’s influence is personal; this is not a claim that he founded Finale or that Finale inherited his business.

Why Finale?

Individual details.
A finished composition.

The name comes from music and the grand finale: the moment when the parts come together. For flooring, that meaning rests in preparation, installation and the finished details.
